The text was co-edited by former Yale University President and Western historian, Howard Lamar, and by Professor Maldwyn Jones, historian and author of The West, An Illustrated History. The West cards can be found at numerous historic sites, including, Fort Laramie, Fort Scott, the Thomas Gilcrease, Sid Richardson and Amon Carter Museums, the Buffalo Bill Historical Center, and the St. Louis Arch.
